I was going to write something today. But I got derailed. It happens a lot lately. I wake up with thoughts and ideas I’d like to share. I fire up the desktop, grab some coffee and relax a bit with hot java before descending into the chair in front of the screen.
But somehow the thoughts I had awakened with drain out of some ethereal trough into ‘somewhere’ and I’m left with nothing. Zilch. So I proceed to ‘research’ anything that happens across the screen on my way to somewhere, lost for a few hours into a digital vacuum bouncing from one item to the next until I land somewhere that snaps me back into ‘the now’. The realization of that time spent aimlessly wandering an electronic pathway can never be recovered and I once again begin feeling lost and worthless, never achieving the ‘goals’ I had set as I pulled myself out of bed that morning.
But today was different. Yes, I had wandered off the chosen path and into another era. Old memories of days past resurfaced when I discovered a broadcasting legend had been rescued from the scrapheap it was about to fall into. Someone had wandered onto something when they strayed off the planned path – and they took a chance and pursued a dream. A 1975 GMC Motorhome had been sitting under a tree in San Francisco dying a slow death when a man rediscovered it and brought it back from the brink of death. This wasn’t just another GMC Motorhome. It was a fully built-out mobile radio studio from back ‘in the day’ when radio was still a viable product and this mobile studio was evidence of that day. I recalled I had worked with its twin in Miami in the 1980s, the WAXY-FM Mobile Studio that used to travel the highways and streets of South Florida playing the Classics from Palm Beach to Homestead. Those were the days.
But they were the days. The fond memories this discovery stirred reminded me how fortunate I truly have been throughout my time here. But those days are those days. They helped shape me into who I am now. The people I interacted with who left imprints on my soul, some still with us on this Planet, some not. They all had a hand in who I am now by how they interacted with me. Even those who weren’t very kind had an effect on my evolvement to date. And I must admit I had an impact on their lives also. That’s how it works. It is always a give and take with everything in life. Can we remain balanced in our interactions?
So I was going to do a list of chores today but instead got lost down a rabbit hole once again. Perhaps the chores weren’t all that important anyway. Getting lost for a time reminded me of how wonderful life can actually be.

Caution: Carbon Monoxide
- by George
-
Each month our natural gas supplier sends an email newsletter. This month, with winter approaching, they are offering information on Carbon Monoxide (CO) safety. They warn malfunctioning heating units, blocked chimneys and other winter heating appliances, can cause carbon monoxide to build to a dangerous, even deadly level. They recommend installing carbon monoxide detectors on each floor with attention to sleeping areas. That is a great reminder to all who are customers of our supplier. However…
They blew it in a somewhat risky area. The photo they display shows a technician installing a detector on the ceiling. This is not the proper location to install carbon monoxide detectors. Only smoke detectors should be installed on the ceiling since, everyone knows, smoke rises. But what they are not letting us know is carbon monoxide will mix with air so it may never reach the ceiling. That translates to this: if the alarm goes off in your sleeping areas with the detector located on the ceiling no one will theoretically ever hear it because everyone would either be unconscious or already dead.
Recommendations suggest at least 6 inches below the ceiling and at least 12 inches from walls. This keeps your detector out of ‘the dead zone’ where air typically becomes trapped and unmoving. Another recommended height is about waist level, about the same height that you sleep. Also it is recommended the detectors be placed outside sleeping rooms before the CO can enter the area. Something else to be aware of – ceiling fans. Will the operation of the fan interfere with the proper detection of the CO gas?
There are cost effective CO detectors available at your local Home Center that operate from battery or those that plug into wall outlets with a battery as backup in the event of power loss. A word of caution: When choosing a detector it’s recommended to stay away from those Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors being sold everywhere. They may seem easier seeing you only need to install one unit but again, if you mount it on the ceiling it will detect smoke as intended but won’t do well with CO. But if you mount it low, say 36 to 60 inches above the floor, it will operate perfectly as a CO detector but will fail with smoke.
If you are worried about cost, you can choose a separate battery operated CO detector and a separate battery operated smoke detector and install them in the proper locations. The local DIY Home Center sells economy versions of CO detectors that can be had for around $19.99 (includes batteries) and can go up in cost depending on features, like talking detectors, flashing beacon and so forth. Same goes for smoke detectors. A 9 volt battery operated smoke detector can be had for under $5 and includes the battery.
The CO detector misconception of mounting on the ceiling is a risky profit ploy. Be informed and stay away from the misleading marketing. Your safety, and your family’s safety, is most important.
The Bank Metaphor
- by George
-
For many, many decades people would take their extra money to the bank for safekeeping. In return banks would pay out a small return called interest. Some banks would pay a higher rate than another and would therefore attract many people. Those banks held many people as customers and the people became used to the fair return on their deposits.
Then one day things began to change. The banking business began moving to a different space. They started paying out less in interest and this practice swept through the entire banking industry.
But customers remained. They remained because it was the only option they knew. They grew up with that option just as their parents had and their parents before them. Even though they were not gaining return on their investment they stayed. And they complained.
As time quickly continued forward banks quietly persisted in lowering interest return. Less and less was being paid to their customers and the customers noticed. And they complained.
Then it finally happened. Banks began charging customers for keeping money in their banks. People noticed but they stayed. And they complained.
But quietly, one by one, some people began realizing that the system had changed. The way it was had passed into recent history. People began realizing. Some silently began withdrawing their investments. Banks began feeling the pinch, subtle at first, but the banks noticed. So they cranked up the charges to the diehard customers remaining. The diehard customers noticed. And they complained.
A growing group abandoning the system began getting larger. The banks noticed but they were making more money off the diehard customers who chose to remain. And they complained.
The diehards who remained made a choice to stay in a situation that was costing them hundreds or thousands in lost returns. And they complained. But they were becoming angry that others would not rejoin them in a system that had been around for many decades. After all, that system was tried and true. And they complained. They began attacking those who chose to leave a failing system in pursuit of a better way, a new way of existing financially. It was costing the diehards more money while others who abandoned a failing system were beginning to gain abundance in many ways. And the diehards attacked and complained.
Those making a change are concerned because it is a place they have never been before. They are building a system from the ground up with no roadmap and no blueprint. That system will be fair for all people and that angers the diehards, too afraid to abandon a narrow system that has been around for many decades. It worked for their parents and grandparents after all. And they attack and complain.
A new system is emerging and gaining traction. It is being built in many variations not just one set model. This will allow each individual to generate abundance in a way that matches their way of BEing not a model designed to favor a few. All people will have the same potentials and opportunities. The new system is favoring abundance for all. Welcome to the new.
And the diehards will attack and complain until the day they die…
It’s That Time

It’s that time of year again… set the clock back at 2:00am Sunday morning. But where did this custom come from? Let’s take a look…
- Its “daylight saving time,” not “daylight savings time.”
- Though in favor of maximizing daylight waking hours, Benjamin Franklin did not originate the idea of moving clocks forward.
- Englishman William Willett led the first campaign to implement daylight saving time.
- Germany was the first country to enact daylight saving time.
- Daylight saving time in the United States was not intended to benefit farmers, as many people think.
- For decades, daylight saving in the United States was a confounding patchwork of local practices.
- Not everyone in the United States springs forward and falls back.
- Evidence does not conclusively point to energy conservation as a result of daylight saving.

Spoofing Caller ID
- by George
-
You’re sitting quietly, relaxing before moving on to the next task today when suddenly the phone rings. Luckily you have Caller ID. You look at the name – Des Moines IA. You think to yourself, “I don’t know anyone from Des Moines” and decide to ignore the call knowing it’s most likely a Telemarketer.
A lot of Telemarketers will employ ‘Caller ID Spoofing’ in order to entice you into picking up the phone. They studied how the curiosity of people would make them actually answer a call from someone they don’t know. For example, did you ever get a call from someone in your own town only to be met with silence on the other end? That was a Phishing call. They spoofed the Caller ID in an attempt to find the best time to reach you before moving the call over to a live person intent on separating you from your cash.
But I’ve noticed something going through life… people will do the same thing, Spoof Life ID. They enter your life as someone and after a time they become someone else. They were applying a Life Spoof in order to gain your trust or connect with you for some purpose. Then later when they believe they have you, they become the real person behind the illusion. By then they may have more information about you than you care for them to have. Those are the most difficult relationships to extract yourself from.
But there is a way. Be aware where you are meeting another person and why they may be there in the first place. Also consider your motives why you are in that very same place. Become true to yourself and allow a bit of time to become aware of others. We have all been burned by getting involved with another who wasn’t in our best interest. Use those experiences as a gauge going forward, not to withdraw and become suspicious of anyone who passes through your life but to use those experiences as a scale to measure your action or reaction when meeting a person for the first time.
Trust you to be able to take just a moment to check in with you and begin to trust your own feelings. As we do this our abilities will become even better on detecting someone spoofing Life ID. You will finally feel confident in knowing who to answer and who to ignore.
The Programs Have Changed
- by George
-
For decades the programs on Channel 3 had played every day, new episodes on a theme. Then one day a program was replaced with something new, something different. At first it was annoying but it was only one, everything else remained the same so it wasn’t that threatening or bad.
Next another changed. This was getting scary now and annoyance was increasing. Yet again another and another changed and the familiar programs like "Woman, Stay in the Kitchen", "Black Man, Serve Me on Demand", "Queerboy Gets a Good Pounding" and "Latinos Pick the Produce" had been replaced by programs that just didn't make sense. Those programs were depicting people getting along, helping each other through difficulties, including everyone instead of separating into groups and peaceful dealings in business and sudo-politics.
This angered many and they began to lash out at those who were grateful for the change by attempting to paint them as bleeding hearts, Commies, Terrorists, rabble-rousers, liars, cheats, mentally unbalanced and more. After all, they weren't following the ‘Old Programs’, the ones that had been playing for decades. The whole thing was going to hell in a handbasket and there was nothing they were able to do about it - except be angry and treat others poorly as punishment for not marching in lockstep.
Humanity is crossing a threshold.
This change was "prophesied" in their Bible yet they are choosing to reject that prophecy now that it's here because they are finding that the elitist mentality must change to encompass one of unity and common good. This does not set well with those who are enjoying their positions of power and control, even if it’s falsely perceived. And they will do anything to attempt to bring these new programs to an end. But they haven't yet realized the new programs are appealing to the majority of Humanity and will not be replaced with the old, outdated programs from the past. Those days are over and yet they try so hard to make them return. And their anger builds and builds.
But their anger is what is destroying them and they have no clue, nor do they desire to know, why they are failing. They are at peace with their anger. It is destroying them and will cause the exact opposite of their desires.
They are granting us our Freedom.
Problems and Shadows
- by George
-
It's that time of year here... temperatures begin cooling down quickly and often house guests of non-Human form begin making their way inside to warmer areas. In one of our bathrooms we have a small LED nightlight and the glow drew our little friend to construct a web to entrap small, unsuspecting insects navigating the rooms of our home. When I spotted this little spider, half the size of a pencil eraser, I noticed it had built a web in and around the back of the light. This little one was clever using the glow of the light to draw insects into its' web.
But what I noticed was the size of the shadow being cast by the little spider. It was at least four to five times the size of this little guy. I thought, "Would this big shadow scare off an unsuspecting catch just by the size of that shadow?" That got me thinking...
When we encounter problems in our lives we often fixate on the problem or solution. It's rare we step back to discover the real source of the problem similar to how modern medicine treats the symptoms of an illness instead of curing the source of the condition being treated. The attention we focus often fixates on the shadow and not the form causing the shadow to be cast. We mount defenses for the oversize shadow, swinging punches toward it in dramatic style only to strike more and more air with no results to the source of the problem.
Instead we can perhaps realize the shadow is a distorted projection of an issue hiding motionless in the brightness of a light, an attempt to incite any number of emotions to experience. Could what we are searching for be hidden in the blinding light just out of sight? Is the shadow a way of causing us to make discoveries of our own instead of accepting the 'truths' of others who may have it all wrong? It always seems when we are given something using no real effort, that 'something' often seems to have little value. But when we use our own mental abilities to noodle out problems we often are able to remember those solutions far longer than ones given using no effort.
Will we fall prey to the shadow... or will we understand the shadow for what it is, a distorted projection of a truth hiding in the light.
Seems to Work…

It’s Working Again… Mostly

It's Working Again... Mostly
Here's the thing... The site got hosed after an update because a plug-in scrambled everything. This is a known bug but was installed and activated by Mojo Marketplace automatically. So when I decided to finally get working on this again to get back on line properly I researched how to manually install WordPress, which I did. But then I didn't have the time to actually begin the process of rebuilding - until now.
I installed the SiteOrigin plugin and related widgets and began not only rebuilding but learning yet another software. But I know this would pay off in the long run as I help maintain two other web sites that I'll be upgrading soon. So this site is the beta tester, the guinea pig of sites.
Well so far all works - except when going into the Blog section - it won't come out unless you click the site name on the upper left of the page. I'm still researching this problem and will get it resolved as soon as I can. But until then... Have a smooth day.
Waking Up

Waking Up
Yes... It's been a long time. The site crashed after much work and life just got away. We're beginning to bring things back under control now and hope you'll stay with us as we do.
So many changes... and often they can come out of nowhere and always unexpectedly. But after decades of what felt as stagnation the World is prompting us to move from an old way of doing things to something untried. That can create anxiety and that's what we are all dealing with in the now.
Stick around... we'll have more as the site evolves.
